RNCC Meeting Minutes, November 8, 2010

December 3rd, 2010

1.  The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM by President Bea Roberson.
2.  MSP approval of the Minutes of the General Meeting of October 18, 2010.
3.  Representatives from the following 17 neighborhoods introduced themselves and gave a report: Carriage Hills N, Cortez/Stege, Eastshore, Fairmede/Hilltop, Greenbriar, Hilltop Villages, Laurel Park, May Valley, N&E, Panhandle Annex, Pt. Richmond, Pullman, Quail Hill, Richmond Annex, Richmond Hts., Richmonre Vill./Met. Sq., & Santa Fe.
4.  Announcements from RNCC PIO:  Naomi Williams reported on current events and correspondence in the RNCC binder, which was then passed around for members to view.
5. City Department Heads/City Official Reports:

  • Planning:  Lamont Thompson distributed the list of planing projects under review. On November 10th the Pt. Molate alternative plans are available to the public.
  • Engineering Services: Lynn Scarpa brought information about what you should and should not put down your drains. Most amounts of oil should be recycled. “Avoid Pain in the Drain”
  • Mayor’s office:  Marilyn Langlois was not present but did drop off the Mayor’s Office events for the rest of the year.
  • City Manager/Community Coordinator: Rochelle Monk was out sick.
  • Police Department: Chief Mangus introduced new Dept. Chief Brown and discussed the changes happening in the Dept. the 1st of 2011. Better coordination between detectives and patrol officers. The Captains will be moving to different assignments. The new noise ordinance is on the agenda. Contact the Chief for a copy.
  • Environmental Manager:  Lynn Scarpa only spoke as Engineering.
  • Public Works:   Yader Bermudez talked about projects being completed now. New lights at  Civic Center Plaza, also new Hilltop sign. The marquee for the Civic Center will be replaced in January.

6. Presentation: Rising Star energy Center, PG&E, & CCC Weatherization Program all spoke about ways you can retrofit your home to save energy. They also would be making your home healthier, safer, and extend the life of your home.
7. Old Business: Calling of nominations from the floor three times and there were no nominations so there were closed and the slate was accepted.  President-Bea Roberson, Vice President-Owen Martin, Recording Secretary-Jan Mignone, Treasurer-Naomi Williams, Public Information Officer-Janie Holland, Corresponding Secretary-Jerry Yoshida,Sergeant-at-Arms-George Schmidt, and Directors-at-Large-Don Woodrow, Garland Ellis, and Jack Etherington.
8.  New Business: Good news only at the Celebration and Installation meeting!
9.  Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 PM.

The next General meeting is January 10,2011 and the next Board Meeting is November 15, 2010.  December meeting is at the Recreation Complex, December 13, 2010. It’s our Celebration/Installation!
