RNCC Meeting Minutes, September 10, 2012

October 1st, 2012

1. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm by President Bea Roberson.

2. MSP approval of the Minutes from the July 9, 2012 meeting.

3. Representatives from the following 14 neighborhoods introduced themselves and some gave reports: Carriage Hills North, Fairmede/Hilltop, Iron Triangle, Marina Bay, May Valley, North & East, Panhandle Annex, Parchester Village, Park Plaza, Pt. Richmond, Richmond Annex, Richmond Heights, Shields/Reid and Southwest Annex Neighborhood Councils.

4. Announcements from RNCC PIO: Goretha Johnson reported about Easy Go, the major Interchange reconfiguration that will occur at the San Pablo Dam Rd exit, the book signing for the new book “The Sky’s The Limit” by Lise Pearlman, Cities of Service information and news from the City of Richmond.

5. City Department Heads/City Official Reports: City Holiday but some departments sent their information in writing.

6. Presentations:
    1) Heather Kulp from Chevron spoke about formalizing the Chevron/RNCC community advisory board that would be used by the NCs as a way for citizens to get their questions and concerns answered.  She also spoke about the fire and passed out the 30 day report on the fire and answered the questions that she could.  They will be adding real time air monitors for Pt Richmond, Iron Triangle, Parchester Village, Shields/Reid and North Richmond neighborhoods.
    2) Dr Bruce Harter from the WCCUSD spoke about how well the children in our schools are doing and that we need to vote for both Measure G (this allows the school district to continue giving students a quality educationfrom kindergarten to high school graduation, providing them with the tools they need to succeed in today’s workforce” and Measure E (will fund upgrades or complete the rebuilds of schools that are in need).

8. New Business: The nominating committee for Executive Board members was formed; Jan Mignone, Stanly Anderson, George Schmidt and Naomi Williams.

9. Adjournment: This meeting was adjourned by the President at 8:44 PM
