RNCC Meeting Minutes, July 13, 2009

1.  MEETING CALLED TO ORDER by President Loynd at 7:00 p.m.  Ground Rule # 7  read.

 

2.  AGENDA REVIEW

 

3.  MSP approval of minutes of meeting of June 8th.

 

4.  Introductions and Neighborhood Reports: Carriage Hills North, Castro Heights; Cortez/Stege; Fairmede/Hilltop; Greenbriar; Hilltop Village; Laurel Park; May Valley; North & East; Panhandle Annex; Parchester Village; Point Richmond; Pullman; Richmond Annex; Richmond Heights; Richmore Village; Santa Fe, and Southwest Annex.

 

5. REPORTS-CITY OF RICHMOND:

  • PLANNING DEPARTMENT: LAMONT THOMPSON – General Plan is available for review: at www.cityofrichmondgeneralplan.org; $75 for paper copy at Planning Dept.  City will hold a workshop on Pt. Molate on Aug. 20.  Chevron dismantling current project following Judges’ ruling.
  • PUBLIC WORKS: RICH DAVIDSON – Written memo passed.
  • MAYOR’S OFFICE – MARILYN LANGLOIS – Meet the Mayor now the first Friday of each month, 5:30 to 6:30, Whittlesey Room. Reports on Civic Center Festival 9/12, North Richmond Shoreline Festival 9/26, rash of killings and who is involved, Richmond received 2 awards for being Green.  Community Development Commission has seats for the following NCs:  Laurel Park –1; Iron Triangle – 2; N & E – 1; Pullman – 1; Belding Woods – 1.
  • CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE:  – Rochelle Monk – Passed out chart showing costs of printing and mailing newsletters for 18 NCs.  City Manager Bill Lindsay will come to RNCC Board meeting to discuss this.
  • POLICE DEPT Chris Magnus – Article on how budget cuts affect community policing; a flyer encouraging residents to call in tips, 232-tips; Michelle Milam on National Night Out.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL MGR. LYNNE SCARPA: Making National Night Out green.

 

6. PRESENTATIONS:

  • Office of Neighborhood Safety – Introduction of four Neighborhood Change Agents.
  • Josh Genser on plans for Live/Work project on North Shoreline.
  • Whitney Dotson, North Richmond Shoreline Open Space Alliance, and Patricia Jones, Citizens for Eastshore Park, on plans for the North Shoreline.

      

7. ANNOUNCEMENTS: None.

 

8. NEW BUSINESS:

  • Committee for RNCC booth at Civic Center Festival, 9/12:  Kaye, Owen, Rita, Emmanuel, Pam, Alejandro, Board members.

 

9. OLD BUSINESS: No Reports.
